One of Atlanta’s premier homebuilders, The Providence Group, commits to build ENERGY STAR® certified homes in new Johns Creek neighborhood.


The Providence Group, the premier developer and homebuilder of award-winning neighborhoods throughout Atlanta, announces their new Johns Creek neighborhood Ward’s Crossing will provide ENERGY STAR certified homes. The gated, master-planned community will include 128 new construction homes upon completion. 

The Environmental Protection Agency - EPA’s ENERGY STAR Residential New Construction program has made a significant positive impact in energy-efficient construction and environmental protection. An energy-efficient home helps lower the total cost of homeownership and is designed to be healthier, more comfortable and better for the environment. 

The Providence Group understands the appeal of today’s energy-conscious homebuyers who are concerned about the high cost of powering their home. The ENERGY STAR certification at the Ward’s Crossing neighborhood will provide homes and townhomes with foam insulation in attic and over garage areas of the homes, tankless water heaters, smart thermostats, lower tonnage HVAC systems, low flow commodes and faucets and ENERGY STAR rated appliances.   All of these energy-efficient features can reduce the cost of homeownership and provide a shield against rising energy bills.

According to the EPA, heating and cooling can cost the average homeowner nearly $1,000 a year—almost half of the total energy bill. To help reduce these costs, ENERGY STAR certified homes come equipped with heating, ventilating, and cooling (HVAC) systems that are designed and installed to optimize performance, lower utility bills, keep the homeowner more comfortable, and provide better moisture control, better indoor air quality and quieter operation.
