Founded in 1981 by three Georgia Tech graduates, Johns Creek originally started out as high-tech office park. This mixed-use, master-planned community known as Technology Park/Johns Creek was the first reference to Johns Creek as a place, putting the area on the map. As more people moved into the area for work, a community of homes and shopping centers built up around it to create the lively suburb it is today.
While Johns Creek currently stands as the ninth-largest city in the state, it also happens to be one of the youngest. Despite its youth, the city has been gaining national attention and recognition for its family-friendly community. In 2017, USA Today named Johns Creek No. 3 out of the top 50 places to live, and the National Council for Home Safety and Security has ranked Johns Creek as the No. 1 safest city and No. 1 best place to raise a family.
Part of what makes Johns Creek a top place to live and such a great place to raise a family is its incredibly ranked schools like Rivertrail Middle School and Northview High School. Recognized by News Week Magazine as the No. 1 high school in Georgia, parents love the academic excellence that Northview offers with its above-average key measures in college and career readiness as well as its 97% graduation rate.
