Located just 35 minutes from Atlanta in southern Cherokee County, Woodstock has grown into an incredibly charming town full of exciting things to do. In the latest vlog from The Providence Group, Susie Proffitt with Atlanta’s Best explores Woodstock and the unique offerings within its revitalized downtown area.
Once a farming village, today’s Woodstock is a vibrant community with lively downtown that combines the old town feel of the city’s past with the modern style of its more recent developments. Downtown Woodstock is lined with over 20 restaurants that include homemade pasta at Vingenzo’s, fresh seafood at Reel, creative Mexican fare at Pure Taqueria and diverse craft beers at Salt Factory Pub.
In addition to its culinary scene, Downtown Woodstock is also home to several charming furniture boutiques. Interior design shop Pineapple Park offers a beautiful selection of lighting, furniture, textiles and more that are sure to elevate the interior of any home. For even more affordable home goods, check out Christine’s Creations. Christine, the owner, is great at refurbishing furniture pieces and always happy to offer decorating suggestions.
Downtown Woodstock is also known for its wonderful nightlife and entertainment with a variety of bars, breweries and music venues. MadLife Stage and Studios provides a music and dining experience with comedy shows, tribute bands, dueling pianos and of course, great food. For those looking to relax outside with some outdoor music, the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheatre hosts a series of free outdoor concerts for the community to enjoy during the summer months.
Perhaps the biggest draw to Woodstock is the Green Prints Trail System, which connects all of these fantastic downtown attractions. Developed by the City of Woodstock, this series of trails were designed to enhance the walkability of the town while encouraging residents to enjoy the natural resources around them. Not only do these trails run throughout the downtown area, but they also provide access to mountain bike trails, dog parks and even more recreation activities at Little River.
